Research

My research investigates the nature, determinants, and consequences of social inequality. Within this broader theme, my work focuses on two substantive topics: (1) determinants of partner selection and consequences of mate selection behavior for inequality in future generations and (2) inequalities in health, family formation, and education by race, and socioeconomic status, and immigration status.  Please click on the topic area to be taken to the relevant body of work. This is a select list and includes only recent papers that fit the themes mentioned below. For the full list of publications, please see my CV.
